3 Months

This is a random blog. I have been meaning to post for awhile but there is just no time. Both boys have gotten to the smile stage which I love, they both eat way too much but are finally happy! We had a hard time finding a formula that works so Soy it is. Our house is starting to get on a schedule which is nice. The boys do like to tag team their mom however, one day Taylor is happy and Brody wants all the attention, the next it day Brody is perfectly content but Taylor wants to be held all day... Having twins is hard, fun, rewarding, makes me want to run away (just for a little while), and something that is like no other challenge I have gone through. Enjoy the random pictures!

Taylor is still pretty laid back though he definitely has a certain way he likes to be held.

This is how the boys wake up from their naps. Its about time there is some sort of paycheck around here! I am not a morning person but I can't wait for the boys to wake up happy.

This is Brody's belly button. He has a hernia. I had no idea that the belly button popping out was a sign but you can see the dip right above the belly button where the hole is. This should start to go away around 6 months.

Brody loves to take a bath. It mellows him out and he gets mad when I have to take him out.

So both boys have put on some weight... just a little. Brody weighed less than Taylor but he has passed up his brother by a good pound. I am pretty sure his head is bigger too. Both boys have cradle cap so they are losing all of their hair. Brody's hair is coming back in blonder than blond. Taylor looks like his going to stay dark so this should make it easier to tell them apart.

The princess of the house is doing great! She is a big help with her brothers. Audrey loves snow white and is in this dress just about every day.

Audrey did not want to be left out of the picture taking so she posed for me... so funny.

Can't you see the amount of trouble I am in with these two. Before long they will be running around the house with a partner in crime. Its a good thing I have Audrey on my side (or at least for now)

Both boys have really funny shaped ears. When they were born they looked like little elf ears. I was told they look funny because they were not done forming. They are not so pointy anymore but they definitely have their own unique shape.

Its about time!

Life around the Coatney house is CRAZY! We are extremely busy and I need to update this blog badly but for tonight here is some long overdue pictures!

This is one of my favorites. Dennis and I laugh every time we see it. (Brody on the left)

Yet another funny one. (Taylor on the Left) Taylor guarding his brother

Brody

We love these little guys. They complete our family. More to come as soon as I find some extra time. You know, when both babies are happy, Audrey is content, and school work is done. Oh yeah and the house.... lol I guess I just need to make time right?

Home for the past 3 weeks!

This has been my home away from home for the past 3 weeks. I can't believe the boys will be 3 weeks on Monday. All in all they have progressed really fast for all of the health problems they have had. Just 3 weeks ago both boys were on C-pap machines not being able to hold their oxygen Sats. Brody was often comforted with Morphine. Taylor could not figure out how to suck, swallow and breathe; which made eating more than a chore to learn. When the nurses told me they were worried as well it made the days seem like they would never end. At times it would get very discouraging to see other babies come and go. This is one experience I will never forget.

My emotions have defiantly been on a roller coaster ride. Trying to divide my time between home, Audrey, Dennis and the babies has been challenging. There are often times of feeling guilty being away from one of my kids. There were days when I just wanted to scoop up the babies and run out the hospital doors and head for home. I have also felt so blessed with all the help. Audrey has been well taken care of and loved by family members. It has made this experience easier knowing your first baby is being well taken care of.

With all of my fingers and toes crossed.... Brody should be able to come home tomorrow!! I have been told this multiple times. I have often showed up with a diaper bag and high hopes to get to bring one baby home just to find out he had a set back and he was not going anywhere. This has been more than frustrating. Taylor should only be a day behind Brody. They have had to prove themselves of being able to wake up on their own wanting to eat. They boys were suppose to complete the first 24 hours with their feeding tubes in but both boys decided to pull their tubes out yesterday. They have eaten all of their feedings for the past 24 hours.

Brothers

Brothers! Who can resist these two. Taylor on the Left and Brody on the Right.

Taylor now weighs 5lbs 2oz. Brody weighs 4lbs 13oz.

Three great men in my life! I am one lucky girl.

Taylor still has no interest in eating. He will latch on but will not suck or swallow. The nurses say he is acting like a normal preemie. One day his "light" will go on. It is something that will just click for him. I hope that light comes on quickly. I am anxious to have him home.
